July 30, 2009.The once quiet Montreal suburbs have become the battlefield between two vicious street gangs, the Diplomats and the Streetgangsters.
Mahad Al-Mustaqim, one of Jonathan Klor’s old friends and a member of the Streetgangsters, stood outside his apartment block in Pierrefonds’ Cloverdale projects, smoking with his girlfriend. A car parked in the distance behind him, and three men exited, his old friend Klor among them.
Mahad spun to see a gun pointed in his direction, Klor’s finger on the trigger.
What began as a feud over territory and drug trafficking quickly escalated into a deadly battle between the Diplomats and the Streetgangsters. As gunfire echoed through suburban streets and retaliatory attacks claimed lives, the once-peaceful community found itself trapped in the crossfire of a gang war that would leave a lasting scar on the region.
