Two shocking murders in Ontario in 2017 revealed a deadly underworld struggle. In a botched hit, a gunman aiming for a member of the Serrano family instead killed his innocent girlfriend. Mila Barberi was shot dead on March 14, 2017 in Vaughan, north of Toronto. In May 2017, Hamilton mobster Angelo Musitano was shot and killed in his truck as he returned to his suburban home. Police say Michael Cudmore was the gunman who shot both victims, helped by Daniel Tomassetti. Both left Canada for Mexico before they could be arrested. Cudmore was killed in Mexico. Tomassetti remains a fugitive.
