This was my second visit to Port-au-Prince, Haiti — right in the middle of one of the most brutal gang wars the country has ever seen. These clips were filmed during my trip last November, when the streets were tense, hoods divided, and survival was a daily struggle. In this video, two people lost their lives — caught between the conflict of a powerful gang boss “VS” and his underboss, known as “Blacks.” What you’re about to see is the raw reality of life inside Haiti’s capital.
